Speak Out Allied Event

In this 60 min workshop, Women's Empowerment Coach, Claryn Nicholas will explore the whys of micromanagement and how to look at it with compassion.

Having a micromanaging boss can make your workplace a very stressful place. There are many reasons why they feel the need to micromanage, some may not even realise that they do, which is not an excuse.

As employees and team members, being micromanaged not only makes us feel incompetent, unsure, frustrated, stressed, angry and even sad, but it also denies us opportunities to exercise and develop our skills, stalls our growth, and diminishes our confidence and self-esteem.

This workshop will explore:

- the psychology of micromanagement

- why compassion?

- how using compassion, we can take back our power

We can't change people unless they want to and we may not feel brave enough to challenge or confront them, which is not a smart move anyway, but we can change how we respond to them.

Through the lens of compassion, we can change the way we see them and ourselves, take responsibility for our own actions including how we respond to them, and make the changes ourselves - which will enable us to grow, reclaim our power and feel confident again.
